After two COVID-19 scares already this year, Sharon Osbourne has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is isolating as she recovers.

Sharon explained in a brief statement that, after being treated briefly at the hospital she is recovering in isolation.

Her husband, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, has tested negative for the virus, she said.

“I wanted to share I’ve tested positive for COVID-19,” Sharon wrote.

“After a brief hospitalisation, I’m now recuperating at a location away from Ozzy (who has tested negative) while The Talk is on a scheduled hiatus. Everyone please stay safe and healthy.”

The Osbournes have already endured two self-imposed quarantines this year, one in September after their grandchildren tested positive for the virus and another last month when someone who works at their home tested positive.

Ozzy’s potential exposure to the virus is of particular concern, given his age, his gender, his recent medical issues and the fact that he had a severe battle with the flu and pneumonia just over a year-and-a-half ago.

Ozzy has been recovering from neck surgery for over a year while also getting treatment for Parkinson’s disease.

Undeterred, the Prince of Darkness has been militant about his recovery, exercising for hours each day and even reportedly working on a new solo album to follow his acclaimed Ordinary Man comeback record this past February.
