Ticketek Australia has announced it will waive transaction fees on AFL Finals Week 1 tickets purchased from tomorrow (Wednesday 29 August) for matches at the MCG and SCG.

The waiver will cover all remaining ticket purchases by Competing Club Members, AFL Members and the General Public.
The moves follows disruption to this morning’s Competing Club Members on sale and the subsequent postponement of the General Public on sale.
We understand your frustration and thank you for your patience. We are working with Ticketek, the MCC and SCG on a revised on-sale schedule and will communicate this to all members and fans as soon as possible.

Geoff Jones, the Chief Executive Officer of Ticketek, said the company regrets the inconvenience caused by the disruption and apologises to fans that were unable to purchase tickets today.
“Ticketek is waiving transaction fees as a gesture to those fans that were unable to secure their finals tickets today,” said Jones.

“We understand the excitement that footy finals bring and all the Ticketek team are disappointed that website issues impacted our service delivery to those fans.
“I also apologise to the management and staff of our venue partners, the competing clubs and the AFL for the disruption to what is shaping as a phenomenal finals series.”
