An unforgettable X Factor contestant has died at just 38 years of age.
Ariel Burdett was a ‘holistic voice coach’ whose 2008 audition went viral around the world.
She was tragically found dead in her home in Leeds on November 12 but her death has only just been made public.
Her cause of death is still not known, but local police report there were no suspicious circumstances.
Burdett rose to fame after handing out a memorable smackdown on the judges after she failed to make it through to the next stage.
She famously told the judges she was “a human being, not a number” and told the judges (Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Tweedy and Louis Walsh) to “shove a bit of metal right up their a**”.
Twitter was flowing with tributes:
“RIP Ariel Burdett, the iconic Holistic Vocal Coach who provided one of the most legendary moments on TV,” one wrote.
“She was a generalist, not specialist, she was a human being, not a number.
Another added: “Really sad to hear about Ariel Burdett aka the Holistic Vocal Coach passing away.
“She brought so much joy to me and so many people, and will be remembered with absolute love by so many of us.”
