You always knew it was going to be a good day at school when the teacher wheeled in the television, for those of us at public schools, it meant that we would be watching one of the school’s three movies on VHS.
And because Netflix thinks that you should be giving the same sort of treatment to your home-schooled kids, they have released a bunch of educational documentaries on YouTube for free.
The streaming giant has made 34 films available, including the David Attenborough-narrated Our Planet series.
By the way, if you haven’t seen Our Planet, you don’t need kids to enjoy it.
Like every Attenborough series, every second of it is absolutely incredible.
Here’s some of the docos that Netflix has made available for free:
- Our Planet (8 episodes)
David Attenborough-narrated documentary in the style of Blue Planet or Planet Earth
- Abstract: The Art of Design (8 episodes)
Doco series that gives you an appreciation of what goes into good design.
- Explained (7 episodes)

- Babies (5 episodes)
The series all about raising babies, featuring…cute babies.
