UPDATE: In a statement, Endemol Shine (the producers of Big Brother) have confirmed housemates have been told about the Coronavirus.

The statement read: “Endemol Shine Australia takes the health and safety of our crew and contestants extremely seriously.”

“We are working in line with current guidelines and production on Big Brother is continuing.”

“Housemates have been brought across the current situation and we are in constant contact with the families to keep all involved up to date.”

——–EARLIER——

One of the best things about Big Brother is watching evictees learn about what’s been happening in the world while they’ve been locked up.

Which means this year is already shaping up to be a doozy.

According to Media Diary, this year’s contestants entered the house three weeks ago – when toilet paper was just toilet paper, not the planet’s hottest bargaining chip.

Thing is, considering they’re in their own version of a lockdown, we hazard a guess they may not be told about how bad its gotten.

Weirdly, a similar sitcho is panning out on Big Brother in Canada, where the show decided to can the studio audience – something that contestants can hear and, presumably, see when crossing to the host during live shows.

This clip doing the rounds shows the contestants talking about it:

What we do know, is that the Aussie contestants have “unlimited access” to toilet paper.
