Clearly everyone was looking forward to watching the Friends Reunion episode over the weekend, particularly those in lockdown because, well, because lockdown.
Turns out a surge in new subscriptions last week caused massive headaches for Kayo, Binge and Foxtel, which were hit with technical difficulties dealing with the demand.
Not long after Victoria’s 7-day lockdown kicked in, app users were unable to watch live/streaming content for a number of hours.
“We have had unprecedented numbers of users joining Kayo this evening on the back of the lockdown in Victoria,” a spokesperson told TV Tonight.
“We have made technology adjustments to support the very high levels of demand and services are now operating normally… we apologise to customers affected for the inconvenience.”
It’s understood that the services’ capacities have since been adjusted so the issue wouldn’t be repeated.
