The Mexican government has taken action to shut non-essential businesses in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
This means that the production of Corona beer has also been suspended.
This suspension is in place until April 30th in the hope to curb the virus.
Mexico is currently at 1, 500 cases and 50 deaths.
But don’t fret, their CEO Bill Newlands doesn’t forecast any shortages saying the company has “ample supply to meet consumer demand”.
Surprisingly the name the beer company shares with the current pandemic hasn’t affected sales at all, but in fact sales grew 8.9% according to Constellation Brands who handles the beer’s distribution.
With alcohol purchases rising in Australia and a number of other countries, at least no matter how bad things get we can still crack a cold one in our backyard.
