Staff at a wildlife park in eastern England have had to move a group of parrots from public view because they were swearing too much.

African Grey Parrots Elsie, Eric, Jade, Tyson and Billy had to be split up after coming to the park from five different owners and taught each other how to swear.

The foul language made staff members laugh, which encouraged the birds to keep going.

The park’s chief executive, Steve Nichols, said the parrots started to equate swear words with laughter and would start laughing at their own obscenities.

“It just got to be like an old working men’s’ club scenario where they are all just swearing and laughing,” he said.

However, it wasn’t long before the fab five were throwing their gutter talk at visitors and they had to be moved to an enclosure until their vocabulary improved.

“What we will do now is release them out but in separate areas so at least if they do swear it is not as bad as three or four of them all blasting it out at once.”
