A 19-year-old student has woken from an 11-month-long coma after a car accident with no knowledge of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The British man was hit by a car while out for a walk on March 1st 2020 and suffered a brain injury, prompting doctors to put him into a coma.
Three weeks later, the UK went into its first nationwide lockdown.
“It’s almost as if he has slept through the pandemic,” his aunt told Staffordshire Live.
“It’s hard, as we know he is more alert, but how do you explain the pandemic to someone who has been in a coma?”
