Hundreds of Red Rooster employees have been left without jobs and have no answers…

It has been reported that over 100 workers have been left without jobs after a string of Red Rooster stores closed down overnight in Queensland.

Administrator Robson Cotter Insolvency Group confirmed that the owner of Sunstate Foods Pty Ltd went into voluntary administration on Monday afternoon.

Red Rooster stores in Buderim, Sunshine Plaza, Currimundi, Noosa, Burpengary, Moreton Bay and Deception all suddenly shut up shop overnight and retail experts fear that more stores could be on the chopping block.

The company has recently struggled to compete and stay up-to-date with changing consumer preferences.

Founded by the Kailis family in WA in 1972 (four years after KFC opened its first local restaurant in Sydney), Red Rooster has been an Aussie favourite since day one.
