Personal trainer to the stars, Simon Mitchell has shared his own simple workout routine that you can use to get moving in the lounge room.

Mitchell was a personal trainer on the latest Star Wars film.

“2019 I was a FIFO personal trainer on Star Wars at Pinewood Studios in London. I was training Daisy Ridley on the movie and it was just an incredible experience,” he said.

“Some squats, some push-ups or dips on a chair. But rather than making it ad-hoc, actually create a routine for yourself so that you can move forward at a time like this, which…you know, everyone’s struggling to get their head around,” he said.

“What I personally love doing, or prescribing for people is a combination of upper and lower. So you can do some squats, which is lower body and then maybe some pushups, which is upper body. You can move into some lunges, which is lower body and then dips on a chair, which is upper body.”

“You know that you’re hitting every region and then maybe do some mountain climbers and some skipping, so you’re getting a bit of cardio. That’s kind of a body-weight workout, and you can do 10 reps of each, four sets and that’s a 15-20 minute workout, that’s going to keep the blood pumping and burning calories as well.”

Simon’s 15-Minute Isolation Workout Routine, 4×10 Reps of each:

  • Squats (Lower-body)
  • Pushups (Upper-body)
  • Lunges (Lower-body)
  • Chair Dips (Upper-body)

Then a set each of:

  • Mountain climbers
  • Skipping

“That’s kind of a body-weight workout, and you can do 10 reps of each, four sets and that’s a 15-20 minute workout, that’s going to keep the blood pumping and burning calories as well.”
