Pub food is the sort of food that ticks the boxes, all day every day.

Want just a pie and chips? There ya go.

A full-blown rack of lamb with wine jus and broccolini? Comin’ up.

How about a cheap counter meal deal with a beer? Done and done.

Thing is, considering the sheer range of nosh you can get at your local, finding the best pub food is no easy task.

That’s why, Yak Brewing is calling on Australians to vote for their favourite pub meal, with one winner being crowned as Australia’s best from the following categories: chicken parmigiana or chicken schnitzel, steak, burger, fish and chips, and pork ribs.

For a chance to win $100, vote for your favourite meal at www.thehungryyak.com.au

And to make your life easier, here are some of our top picks:

The Guildford Hotel

One thing about The Guildford, it’s consistent. Like consistently on ‘Perth’s top pubs’ lists. With food like cheeseburger spring rolls and the most ah-mazing ‘Pitmaster Collection’ share plate which includes an entire kilo of meat, you can see why.

Now they’ve brought back the classic Cob Loaf…

The Kewdale Tavern

OK, this pub, in the tradie heartland, not only has one of the best gluten-free menus ever and home to the tallest drive-thru bottleshop in Perth, but it also has a cracking lunchtime bento box! Whaaaaa…

Clancy’s Fish Pub Fremantle

Along with their famous ‘Fried Mice’, one thing Clancy’s is loved for, isn’t fish at all but their classic Parmy.

We’re talking tons of chips, proper gravy and a fried egg on top.

The Oxford Hotel

Whatever you do, don’t be fooled by the 5 olives, these pizzas are what Mondays and Tuesdays were made for. And they’re less-than $10 a pop.

Recently, a chef mate of mine (who doesn’t work at the Oxy), described these bad boys as ‘bloody awesome’.

3 Sheets On The Lake

Before publishing this, I was warned to ‘not let the secret out’ about this joint.

Tucked away near Herdsman Lake, this place has not just a great $15 steak on Thursdays, they’ve also jumped on the cob loaf wagon AND do the thing we didn’t even know we needed – a Chicken Taco Share Plate…*drool*

(Oh, did we mention that doggos are welcome?)
