West Aussies are already snapping up the freshly announced cheap seats to Broome, Exmouth and Kununurra… thing is, why aren’t they always this affordable?
The WA Government has partnered with Virgin Australia and Qantas, subsidising 50,000 airfares up north – $149 to Exmouth, $199 to Broome and $249 to Kununurra, one-way.
But the joke has always been that you can fly to Bali cheaper than you can fly within our own state.
The Bunch put it to aviation expert Geoffrey Thomas, who agreed it was a fair point, and explained it in the simplest way possible.
