Here’s something that’s even more exclusive than Uber Black, and perfect for when you’re bang up for a lift out on the Great Barrier Reef.
Yep, I’m going somewhere with this.
From May 27 to June 18, you’ll be able to Uber… a submarine.
Oh and, get this, they’ve called it scUber.
Partnering with Tourism and Events Queensland, the sub will take a couple of passengers about 30 metres underwater to explore the reef.
And yep, you book it through the app, like you would flag a regular ride.
The price is a bit steeper than the 10-minute round trip to the pub and back… the one-hour ride will set you back a flat fee of $1500 per person, with a minimum cost of $3,000 per ride.
As part of the partnership, Uber is donating $100,000 to Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef to help preserve the delicate coral ecosystem.
