Woolworths customers are reporting that they have had hundreds of dollars worth of rewards point credits stolen from their accounts.
Shoppers have taken to Facebook to alert the supermarket that it is happening.
They are claiming that thieves are getting hold of their login details and using their points at the register.
Some accounts have lost almost $200.
A Woolworths statement said “We’ve taken the precautionary step of locking down any accounts with suspicious point redemptions while we work with individual members to verify if the activity was legitimate.”
“In all cases to date, the accounts have been accessed with valid login and password details, indicating fraudsters have obtained their login credentials from online scams or other sources.
“We have found no evidence to suggest that our IT systems have been breached or compromised.”
It’s understood points redeemed fraudulently will be reinstated to members.
