For more than a decade, Narelda Jacobs has delivered the Channel 10 news into Perth living rooms.

But, on Friday, it will be her last news broadcast.

Jacobs told Botica’s Bunch that she was moving on to Studio 10.

“It’s bittersweet, I love my life here in Perth,” she said before adding that she was after the challenge – and the point of difference – of a panel discussion program.

Which is totally fair, considering Jacobs has worked out of the same newsroom for almost 20 years.

“I’ve been at Channel 10 since 2000, so 19 years,” she told Botica’s Bunch.

Yeah, we couldn’t believe it either.

Jacobs spent 8 years the Channel 10 newsroom and out on the road doing general reporting, court reporting and a whole lotta filling-in.

“And then tragedy struck with [Ten Eyewitness News anchor] Charmaine Dragun,” she said. “Someone who is always close to my heart.”

“Six months later, I stepped into her seat, and that’s where I’ve been for 11 years.”

Jacobs will deliver her final bulletin on Friday before officially joining the Studio 10 panel on January 13.
