Well, we’re finally here.
After months of having our beloved sausage sizzle suspended, Bunnings have confirmed its return this weekend to WA, Queensland and SA.
The moves comes after they successfully brought back the fundraiser to Tassie and the NT earlier this month.
“Community groups did a fantastic job adapting to the new physically-distanced layout and hygiene measures designed to keep everyone safe,” Bunnings Chief Operating Officer, Deb Poole, said.
Bunnings suspended community sausage sizzles in March due to you-know-what and instead donated $500 gift cards to local fundraising efforts.
But really, nothing beats a Bunnings sausie.
Bunnings said that community groups who had sausage sizzles pre-booked during the lockdown are being prioritised for the restart with more than 50 booked in for WA alone.
The changes to be made will include:
- Separate ordering and pick-up points to allow for 1.5 metres’ physical distancing
- Increased cleaning processes and hygiene requirements
- Increased signage to guide customers
- Additional team members rostered to encourage physical distancing
