After being spoiled with all this gorgeous weather, Friday comes in with a petulant throwback to winter.

As if the ‘100% chance of rain’ prediction wasn’t enough, the Bureau of Meteorology have used the most dramatic icon – the grey cloud, raindrops and lightning strike – in the forecast.

The Bureau says the chance of a thunderstorm can be expected in the morning and afternoon. Winds are also likely to increase to 40 to 50 km/h and, depending on what the low-pressure system does, there could be gusts of up to 80 km/h.

Speaking of winds, they’ll be northeast to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h tending north to northwesterly 25 to 35 km/h in the morning then tending southeast to southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h in the evening.
