The road between Prindiville Drive and Whitfords Avenue remain closed in both directions after a sinkhole opened up overnight, swallowing a lamppost.
A burst water main is to blame for the sinkhole, which spans several metres in diameter across a section of the road and footpath.

Utility workers have been on the Bobcats all morning scooping up as much of the debris as possible and trucking in sand and pumps to deal with the huge puddles of water which remain on the road.

Surrounding businesses have been told they probably won’t have water for most of the day, gas has also been shut off.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
