Legendary larrikin Kevin Bloody Wilson remembers growing up around the shearing sheds in Kalgoorlie when he came up with his stage name.
“Every time I hung around the sheds I was underfoot and in the way,” he recalled. “Not that bloody Wilson kid again!”
Since then, Wilson has become a proudly politically incorrect part of Aussie culture whose work has been preserved at the National Film and Sound Archive.
What we didn’t know, was that Wilson was a music teacher (!) and, thanks to Billy Connolly, one particular member of the Royal Family is a huge fan.
