It seems Perth might have its replacement to the notoriously hungry Baysie Bridge.
A truck has come off second best when, about 11am, it seems it attempted to dodge the clutches of the rail bridge which flies over Sutherland Street in West Perth. You know the one, it’s near Scitech.
It looks as though the truck’s cab made it, but upon realising the rest wouldn’t, the bridge mercilessly caught and ripped the front panel off the truck’s enclosed trailer while reversing back out.
But get this – Baysie Bridge’s clearance is a snug 3.8 metres… but the West Perth bridge is even lower at 3.7 metres. Ooof.
We just hope that the bridge calms TF down and doesn’t develop a taste for local traffic.
