The grandfather maintains that he is innocent, and claims that he did stop.
After failing to stop, police followed the man for more than an hour and a half as he drove into Toodyay, eventually catching up with him in the townsite.
The man told 9News that police owed him money to replace the tyres after they employed road spikes to slow the car.
The man’s Jeep has now been impounded, although he plans on fighting any charges in court.
