A 45-year-old Bayswater woman has been charged in what WA Police have described as a ‘bizarre burnout’ at Redcliffe Oval.
On Thursday, it’s alleged that the woman drove her white Hyundai Getz on the oval, where council workers were carrying out some work.
Police say the workers had to take shelter on top of their work vehicles due to the woman’s erratic driving.
At one point it’s alleged she drove straight towards one work vehicle, coming within close proximity of a worker, who had to get out of the way to avoid being struck.
When the woman stopped her car, a member of the public took the keys and police were called
The woman was taken to hospital and charged via summons. She’s due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court next month.
The vehicle has since been impounded.
