The first purpose-built public parkour course has opened in Perth’s northern suburbs and, just quietly, we are 100% into this idea of playgrounds for grown-ups.

Not just for Australian Ninja Warriors, the free course at Whitfords Nodes Health and Wellbeing Hub at Hillarys Beach Park has 16 obstacles over 50 metres based off the hit show.

The $280,000 course includes balance beams, monkey bars and climbing walls and is designed for total beginners and actual Ninja Warriors.

“We do playgrounds really good for kids up to, say, 12 years old, but we don’t have a good selection of playgrounds for, 10-year-olds to 18-year-olds, that’s kind of what this is,” Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob told Nine News Perth.

By saying ’10-18 years old’, he actually means ‘grown-ups’ and, like the playground in Katanning with giant, scaled-up equipment for adults, we are absolutely here for it.
