WA entering Phase 5 of easing coronavirus restrictions will again be delayed by two weeks.
August 15 was the date set for potentially lifting restrictions further, however Premier Mark McGowan said this date would be delayed until at least August 29.
“We need to be extra cautious,” he said.
“The nation is on high alert right now, we cannot afford to let our guard down and take unnecessary risks.”
The announcement comes as Victoria records 450 new virus cases and 11 deaths overnight.
