While temps are forecast to drop off today, Perth melted through its hottest February day in 23 years on Tuesday.
Just after 3pm on Tuesday, we hit a disgusting 42.7 degrees, which caused trains to slow, sparked concerns of fire due to forecast lightning and promoted a warning for tradies to stop work. You know, the trifecta.
It was hottest day in Perth since January 5, 2015, when temperatures hit 44.4 degrees and the hottest February day in 23 years, when we copped a thermonuclear 44.5 degrees on February 26, 1997.
Here’s the breakdown:
- Bullsbrook – 44.6C
- Swan Valley – 43.6C
- Swanbourne – 42.1C
- Rotto – 38.6C
Don’t put your bathers away just yet, temperatures aren’t expected to dip below 30C this week.
