As soon as the AFL Grand Final was announced for Perth, there were two burning questions: will we get another public holiday and how on earth do we get tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime match?

Mark McGowan said no to another public holiday, which leaves us with how we’re going to get our dirty little mitts on the hottest tix in town.

For a lot of us, it doesn’t even matter that our team may not be playing, but it seems that many West Aussies have taken this to another level.

“A lot of WA people are getting on the Demons,” Ryan Daniels told The Bunch on Friday.

“And it’s got nothing to do with Max Gawn, their love of cheese platters or the snow.  It has to do with loopholes.”

OH WA, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE.

Daniels continued.

“Some clever people will have discovered that if you sign up to be a Melbourne Demons member, a certain level of membership gets you priority access to the Grand Final, should they make it.”

Over the past 24 hours, more than 500 West Australians have signed up as Dees fans.

Thing is, the club didn’t see this coming.

“They’ve now had to react and at 5pm tonight they will shut that loophole off,” Daniels said.

Lisa was, as the kids say, shook.

“I love the ingenuity of a West Australian football fan, hats off.”
