Day Care Fees Up, Childcare Workers Wages Stay Same
The wages of childcare workers is in the spotlight once again as figures show they’re stagnant, while day care fees have risen.
Educators are among the lowest paid professionals in the country.
United Voice WA secretary Karma Lord told 96FM it was unacceptable:
“Parents can be paying up to $170 per day but the educators are receiving around $21 an hour, so there is a lot of money that is either going missing or not being used wisely in the sector.”
