Former West Coast premiership player Daniel Venables could be owed millions in compensation from the AFL.

He’s been told by the AFL he’s too unwell to return to the sport he loves after suffering a brain trauma injury in a marking contest during the Eagles’ win over Melbourne in May 2019.

“It was described as a car crash,” Ryan Daniels told The Bunch on Friday.

“Scans revealed he had seven brain bleeds. Five of those are dead tissue now.”

Venables now lives in constant pain, unable to work or study… and he’s only 22.
