He turns 36 today AND about to reach a milestone that only 17 other AFL players have ever achieved, yet our Dave Mundy was utterly unfazed at the fuss.

“Yes, it’s a lot of games, isn’t it?” he remarked on Tuesday. “It’s a pretty nice stat.”

The birthday boy simply said that when you start out, you’re pretty stoked just to get one AFL game, let alone dare to think 350.

Clairsy took Mundy back to his days at Subiaco, particularly that night they won the flag.

“[Imagine someone saying] Hey Dave, you’re going to play 350-plus games with the Freo Dockers in the AFL, what would young David have said?”

Little did we realise that in 2004, Mundy had copped one of the all-time greatest sprays from then-coach, Peter German.

“He questioned Fremantle’s choices in drafting me that year, that was very memorable,” Mundy laughed before saying that while he was aggressive, German was just passionate about the game.

“He got the best out of that group certainly and drove Subi to their early success during those times and later came on as a Fremantle assistant coach a couple of years after that.

“We get along really well now.”
