A jaw-dropping haul of props, costumes and other memorabilia from the long-running TV soap Neighbours has been donated to a Melbourne op shop, giving fans a quirky glimpse behind the scenes of the iconic show.

Rebecca Brewin was in for a surprise when she visited This N That Community Op Shop in Forest Hill earlier this week.

“I go in there a lot and I’ve developed a bit of a friendship with Michelle, the manager,” Ms Brewin told the ABC. “She said, ‘oh come out the back, I’ve just had the weirdest donation.'”

What Ms Brewin found was a treasure trove of Aussie TV history: ornaments, table lamps, Erinsborough High school bags, fake licences, Medicare cards, keys on a Lassiters Spa key ring… and even Dr Karl’s medical bag!
