KISS frontman Gene Simmons gave fans a fright after fainting while driving along the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu.
According to NBC4 in Los Angeles, the 76-year-old rock legend was behind the wheel of his Lincoln Navigator when he suddenly veered across several lanes of traffic before hitting a parked car.
Thankfully, no one else was injured. Simmons was said to be alert and talking to first responders, telling them he’d fainted. His wife, Shannon Tweed, later told TMZ that he’s on a new medication that can make dehydration worse – and, like a lot of us, he doesn’t drink nearly enough water.
Simmons was taken to hospital as a precaution but was discharged the same day. In true Gene fashion, he even left a voicemail for NBC4 to say he was ‘recuperating nicely’ at home.
Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us were horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.
