After first donning the fishnets in the early ’90s, Jason Donovan has reprised his role as Frank’n’Furter in the 50th anniversary production of Rocky Horror, currently playing over east.

While many of us have seen Frank in various stages of undress, we’ve not seen or heard him quite so… stripped.

With only a guitar accompanying him, a leather-panted Donovan recently performed a unplugged and acoustic version of ‘Sweet Transvestite’.

First thrust onto the world in 1973, The Rocky Horror Show quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Its 1975 film adaptation, ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’, remains the longest-running theatrical release in cinema history.

The Rocky Horror Show is now on in Newcastle before heading back to Melbourne then Sydney.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like there are plans to bring the 50th anniversary show to Perth.
