Seven’s SAS Australia had a bit of a soft start on Monday night with just 467,000 metro viewers across Australia – the lowest season premiere outside the civilian ‘Hell Week’ stunt, TV Tonight reported.

It was a similar story in Perth, with the new competition in the 7.30pm timeslot attracting 58,000 viewers, barely denting Married At First Sight’s 72,000-viewer domination, which actually built further on last Monday night’s 68,000.

Channel 10’s Australian Survivor did exactly that, snaffling 60,000 viewers.

Meanwhile, ABC TV’s 7:30 chalked up 57,000, falling slightly to 53,000 at 8pm when Back Roads aired.

No ratings info was available for SBS’ Heritage Rescue, but I’m sure it’s a great show.

Will MAFS get even bigger next week or will SAS pull up its boot straps for a militant take over? We’ll soon see.
