West Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui could return as early as this week… but not for the Eagles.

After 11 weeks, Nic Nat will instead be getting some WAFL minutes under his belt on Saturday against South Freo.

“He was really close, I think they just went ‘hold on a minute, let’s not rush this, there’s still nine games to go’,” Ryan Daniels told Clairsy & Lisa on Friday, listing off a string of AFL players who have done the same thing recently, including Nat Fyfe and Elliot Yeo.

“Everyone’s playing WAFL, it’s the new thing.”

The other thing that Rhino dropped into the chat was that, in an apparent effort to try some things to prolong his career, Nic Nat has reportedly gone vegetarian.

Rhino went on to talk about contracts but Lisa was clearly stuck on the veggo thing.

“I would’ve thought that they would have nutritionists at the club…?” she queried. “Advising them all on the best diet for… longevity.”

Rhino agreed that absolutely the club does, and that they would definitely have some advice for him.

“I’m not sure that being a vegetarian is the best thing for an elite athlete,” he said, adding that Nic Nat would have to be pretty diligent.
