If you’ve seen Stranger Things you’ll know that the dedication to ’80s authenticity is spot on. So spot on, that many of the cast were also big in the ’80s.

Matthew Modine who plays Papa, was also in the 1987 Stanley Kubrick film Full Metal Jacket:

Sean Astin, who plays Bob, was one of the cutest kids of the ’80s, known for films like The Goonies.

Winona Ryder, who plays Joyce Byers in Stranger Things, shot to stardom in 1988 as Lydia in Beetlejuice.

Paul Reiser was everywhere in the ’80s and ’90s, but he was probably best remembered as Carter Burke in the 1986’s Aliens and Paul Buchman in the NBC sitcom Mad About You. In Stranger Things he plays Dr Samuel Owens at the Hawkins Laboratory.

He’s someone that probably still gives you nightmares, Robert Englund who played Freddy Krueger in the 1985 Nightmare on Elm Street makes his return as Victor Creel an equally as unnerving character who holds the key to the mystery in season 4.
