The Walking Dead Universe has just expanded with Norman Reedus’ highly-anticipated return in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and now, we have a date and a full trailer.

The six-episode spin-off has kicks off on Monday, showing Dixon as he begins his journey as to how and why he washed ashore, alone, in France… and if he can find a way back to America.

Daryl addresses himself into a tape recorder as coming from a place called The Commonwealth in America.

“I went out to look for something but all I found was trouble,” he says. “If I don’t make it back, I want ‘em to know I tried. Hell, I’m still tryin’”, before setting off on foot across a post-apocalyptic France.

The AMC synopsis includes that the “connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”

According to Deadline, French actor Clémence Poésy’s character Isabelle will be part of a “progressive religious group,’ while Adam Nagaitis’s Quinn plays a displaced Brit who has become powerful in post-apocalyptic Paris as a black marketeer and the owner of a sexy underground nightclub. Ooh la la.

In 2020, Reedus told Den of Geek that that themes of this show and the original The Walking Dead series ‘are completely different.’

We’ll soon see how.

‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ premieres September 11 on Stan.
