Good/bad news, we now have the option to pay less for Netflix.

The trade-off is, of course, you’ll have to endure unskippable ads that will play before and during shows and movies.

Those ads will be 15 or 30 seconds in length and subscribers will be shown up to five minutes of ads per hour of viewing.

Further, if you select the cheaper subscription option, some movies and TV shows won’t be available due to licensing restrictions.

Netflix’s ‘Basic with Ads’ will be available from November 4.

Earlier this year, the streamer reported it dropped 200,000 subscribers in the first three months of the year and braced to lose another 2 million this year, despite its success with Stranger Things, Bridgerton and the latest series on Jeffrey Dahmer.

The drop in subscribers, mainly from the US, was blamed on the sudden surge of services that also includes Disney+, HBO Max and Peacock.

Worldwide, Netflix currently has more than 220 million paid subscribers.
