Over the weekend, someone found what uncannily looks like a mermaid skeleton washed up on a beach in Northern Queensland.

Bobbi-lee Oates posted the photos to a Marine Biology Facebook Page asking for assistance in identifying what it actually was.
While there were a heap of people chiming in, someone who knows what they’re talking about, Rob Deaville from the Zoological Society of London, told news.com.au that it “looks like a small cetacean”, which is disappointingly not Latin for mermaid but an infraorder of small marine mammals (like porpoises or dolphins).
