Set many generations into the future, and centuries after Caesar’s rise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes opens in a new era, where apes are the dominant species and humans live in the shadows.

The apes start off as having built a pretty harmonious society… but whispers of a tyrannical leader and a young ape’s harrowing journey that causes him to question all that he has known about the past hint at cracks in this seemingly idyllic world.

On Thursday, among his flawless Dr Zaius references, our movie reviewer Ben O’Shea seems convinced this movie could actually be dovetailing into the 1968 original.
