After eight years and two movies, speculation is swirling that Downton Abbey season 7 is in the works.
While unconfirmed, early reports have said Carnival Films’ producers are currently locking down the cast, however it’s unclear whether stars like Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery and Elizabeth McGovern will be able (and available) to reprise their roles.
Previously chatting with Radio Times on the release of Downton Abbey: A New Era, Bonneville revealed he “suspected” a return for a third movie was “probably not the case” …buuuut also gave no indication of a seventh season either.
Downton Abbey screened from 2010 and concluded with season 6 in 2015, before expanding into two feature-length films.
