A DJ in the UK has apologised after he found himself at the centre of a festive controversy at a recent football match.

During a football match between Northhampton Town and Portsmouth, Matt Facer inadvertently dealt a blow to 7,000 unsuspecting participants in the viral Christmas game, Whamageddon.

For the uninitiated, the goal of Whamageddon is to go as long as possible without hearing the song ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham!

If you happen to hear it anytime between December 1st until the end of the Christmas season, you’re considered ‘whammed’ and the game is over for you.

Make no mistake, some take this game very seriously – there’s even a website dedicated to it.

Clairsy & Lisa had a chat about this morning on The Shaw Report.
