The RAC’s first electric roadside assistance van has recently arrived in Perth for stranded electric vehicle drivers.

Currently undergoing a trial period, the van serves as a mobile battery top-up service for EVs that have run out of charge.

The top-up provides about 15km of range in about 20 minutes, ensuring EV drivers can get to the nearest charger within the metro area.

Despite rising interest in EVs, RAC General Manager Will Golsby said the biggest concern continues to be access to charging infrastructure.

The service is accessible to all Roadside Assistance members in Perth as part of their existing coverage.
